Guardian Consent and Authorization

Version 0.1-draft · Last updated October 19, 2026

Draft — not final. This document is awaiting founder confirmation and attorney review. It is not yet a final legal policy.

What a parent or guardian link allows, and what it doesn't.

Purpose

A guardian link lets a parent or guardian follow a linked athlete's recruiting activity and help keep it safe.

What a linked guardian can do

  • Read the linked athlete's profile and private details (contact, date of birth, GPA, test scores).
  • Read message threads and meetings for high-school athletes.
  • Approve or decline a high-school athlete's profile photo.
  • Change the athlete's visibility only if the athlete allowed it for that link.

What a guardian cannot do

  • Edit the athlete's profile.
  • See other athletes.
  • Approve coach access requests on the athlete's behalf.
  • Delete the athlete's account.

Ending a link

Either the athlete or the guardian can end the link at any time. Access stops immediately. If either account is deleted, the link is ended.

Invitation, relationship and consent are different

  • Invitation: the athlete enters the guardian's email.
  • Acceptance: the guardian signs in with that confirmed email and accepts.
  • Acknowledgment: the guardian confirms they've read this page. We record the version and time.
  • None of these steps is proof of legal parental authority or legally sufficient parental consent.

Needs review: Attorney to advise on what parental consent process (if any) is legally required for athletes ages 13–17.

Records kept

The two accounts, the relationship entered, the link status and any revocation date, and the version and time of this acknowledgment.
